Newsletter January 2012 New Changing rooms ( Phoenix project ) Update As you will see the actual building is now complete, and getting many complimentary comments from the locals.
The opening now looks like being late January, or early February, but will be well worth waiting for.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we still need some
funding towards the landscaping. So any help would be most welcome.
Christmas raffle / Boxing day match ( on the 27th ) The day was a great success, with the unseasonal weather providing good conditions for the match played
with teams from the football club and cricket club, a formula which worked well and will hopefully be repeated next season,
when the Franklin trophy can be presented to the winners. I am sure Archie would not have minded the change of format.
The raffle made over £500 profit
so a good day all round. My thanks to all who bought and sold the tickets. Also to those who donated prizes :- Pool Business
Park, Weidmann-Whiteley, Eriks u.k, City Electrical Factors, European Lamp Group, Local Pantry ( Was the farm shop at Riffa
), The Hunters, The White Hart, Brasserie Forty 4 in Leeds ( Thanks to Stephen Ridealgh ), The Half Moon, The Wharfedale,
Arthington, Pool post office.
Please
support the local businesses who support us, they are all well worth a visit.

You must have noticed the speed at which the new changing rooms are taking
shape. We still hope to have the opening “ceremony” in early January.
We still need further funding to ensure that we get the £10,000 Granted
by “ Grantscape “ towards the landscaping. Help or donations most welcome, please contact Peter Wilkinson for
full details.
Christmas Raffle
All players should now have £5
worth of tickets to sell. Please try to sell them all, and return the counterfoils and monies via your manager or the bar
to Peter Wilkinson or Steve Boulton ASAP.
Also, prize donations welcomed.
Remember the draw takes place on Tuesday December 27th following the “Boxing day”
match.
Boxing
Day Match
A
reminder that the match will be on Tuesday December 27th. A great way to have a post Christmas blow out. The kick-off
will be around 1-00 p.m. Friends and family very welcome for a social drink or two in the bar afterwards. Followed of course
by the big raffle draw.
We
have a full league programme on the 31st so this match will ensure match fitness. ( There are no matches on the
24th )
Charter
Standard
As
mentioned several times we need to ensure that all our team managers/coaches have the necessary qualifications . CRB checks
e.g. coaching and 1st aid, with CRB checks being a critical one for all those working with the
juniors. So to that end, we propose a meeting of all Junior managers, and coaches, parents will also be welcome to see how
we run the club with their childs safety paramount. Particularly any wishing to assist with the teams ( All help is most welcome
). What we need next is feedback from you all as to when the best time for a meeting would be, e.g. following your Saturday
morning training session. We can then agree a date suitable for Steve Winterburn ( Our child welfare officer ), and Alistair
Tweedie ( Our Charter standard co-ordinator ), to meet with you.
Saturday Yankee.
We have recently had two £50 winners, and a £200 winner. For your chance to help
the club with this fund raiser, and have the chance to join the winners, please contact Peter Wilkinson or any committee member.
And Finally, May I wish all our members a Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

Boxing Day

F.A.Charter Standard.
A reminder that we are a charter standard
club at adult, and junior level. Our next annual health check is due next March, but we have been notified by the F.A. to
give us time for members to attend courses in order to gain or maintain the relevant qualifications. Just to remind you, they
are CRB checks if involved with under 18, minimum level 1 coach for each team in the club, along with a qualified 1st
aider for each team. We also need to attend at least one “in service” course or seminar each year. If you are
involved at any level in the club and need qualifications, or wish to become involved please contact Alistair Tweedie, Peter
wilkinson or Steve Winterburn, so that we can organise it for you. If we are not organised by March, we will lose charter
standard status, which would mean no football as our leagues are charter standard, thanks.

October 2011
Annual Subscriptions are now well
overdue, also there are many F.A disciplinary fines outstanding. To those of you who have paid, thanks. To the rest of you
Please pay now, it is unfair and unacceptable to have Steve, and your managers constantly chasing, they have
plenty to do without that. If you have a genuine problem with paying, contact Steve or any committee member in order to make
the appropriate arrangements. Don,t do nothing. With regard to the discipline fines, our record is not good, please
refrain from descent as this is the most common offence. It will save you at least £10 and the club discipline points,
Thanks.
The Phoenix Project is now well under way as you can see from
the current building site at the changing rooms. We estimate completion in three months, so a nice Christmas present to look
forward to.
We are
now having to demolish the whole building and start again due to unforeseen structural issues. The result will indeed be a
state of the art facility. We do however need to find another “around” £8000 having already got funding
of £94000. We have several irons in the fire for this additional funding, but if anyone can help either directly or
through other contacts please contact Peter Wilkinson, or any committee member.
Club Charter Standard
is now maintained via an annual “health check” which entails ensuring all our managers, coaches etc.
have the necessary qualifications i.e each team must have a level 1 qualified coach, and qualified 1st aider. Also
all should be CRB checked via the FA. We also have to attend at least one course during the year. Anyone involved but short
on the above should contact our Charter Standard co-ordinator ( Ali Tweedie ),or any committee member ASAP, so that we can
arrange the necessary actions for you. Also anyone wishing to attend any courses on behalf of the club can contact the same
people. Thanks.

Changing room re-furbish ( The Phoenix project
)
Our new lease has, at last, been completed, signed, and a copy sent to the
Football Foundation. This was the last condition of their offer of £34,500, so we now have the go ahead to start the
work on the building. Due to the lease taking a ridiculously long time to sort out, we are obviously running late, so some
form of temporary changing facility will be needed when we have two home matches. We are working on this, but please bear
with us if we have to “ make do and mend “ so to speak, on some Saturdays. It will be well worth it when the project
is complete.

Standing
order forms are now available in the club. A great way to support the club for £4-33 a month to win up to £2000,
please contact Peter Wilkinson or Steve Boulton for more information.
Annual Subs.
Sorry to go on about money again, but some players are just
not playing fair. As I said in earlier newsletters Steves job as treasurer is hard enough so please pay your £40, or
have a word if you have a genuine problem, do not do nothing. This also applies to F.A disciplinary fines.
( Better still don,t get booked, most are for decent i.e. having a go at the referee, you could save the club disciplinary
points, and yourself £10 ).
Anyway enough about money, the main reason we are all at the club is to enjoy our football, so after an indifferent
start to the season, lets get stuck in, We have a lot of very welcome new players, but inevitably it takes time to gel into
a team. There is a long way to go this season, with everything still to play for.

Changing Rooms Refurbishment ( The Phoenix Project ) The
site is cleared, and footings prepared, however, the delay in continuing has been caused by the late new lease which has to
be signed and sent to the Football Foundation ( The lease has been agreed, just waiting for hard copy to sign ). All the funding
is in place, so we will have our new facilities.
Annual Subscriptions Your £40 annual subscriptions are now due. Please give them to Steve Boulton either directly or
via your team manager. DO NOT HAVE STEVE HAVING TO CHASE THE SUBS. IT IS HARD WORK AND EMBARRASING ASKING FOR MONEY.
Steve has enough on his plate as treasurer, and his help on the pitch work. Remember that once the league matches
start it will be No pay No play. If you have genuine problems paying, please contact Steve or any committee
member so that arrangements can be made to help you. We do not want to prevent anyone playing football.
